Shipments of modular homes totaled 5,900 in the second quarter of 2008, down 33.7 percent from the second quarter of 2007, according to the NMHC. Year-to-date shipments for 2008 totaled 11,300, down 30.7 percent from 2007.

Hallahan Associates currently tracks shipments of modular homes in 29 states for the NMHC. In the second quarter, shipments were flat in Rhode Island and down in 28 states, year-over-year.

Year-over-year, second quarter shipments were down in Illinois, Tennessee, Ohio, Vermont, Iowa, Maine, South Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Georgia, Colorado, Michigan, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Delaware, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Connecticut, Indiana, Nebraska, New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, Texas, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.
