The National Modular Housing Council is now accepting entry forms for the NMHC’s 2009 Best New Home Design Awards.

Award winners are honored at the National Industry Awards Luncheon that will be held during the National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing in Las Vegas, Nevada in April 2009. The awards luncheon is an annual highlight of the National Congress & Expo.

Each award winner receives a personalized trophy and recognition in many of the industry’s national publications, including Modern Homes magazine and Modular Housing News. You MUST be an NMHC member manufacturer to participate.

This year, there are five categories for modular homes, including one for a multifamily project. Production categories are for those homes that have been put into production or received DAIPIA approval in the past two years. Concept categories are for those home designs not necessarily intended for design approval or production, or they are homes that will be built but have not yet been put into production. The intent of a concept home is to highlight creative design; showcase new technologies, products or construction methods; or illustrate future trends in modular housing.

All entries will be adjudicated by a panel of independent judges from the fields of design, architecture and land development. The entries are evaluated using objective judging criteria and the highest scoring entries in each category will receive awards. The decision of the judges is final and scores for individual entries will not be disclosed.
